"Olympic Torch" a Hoax -- "Zippo" Thwarted!

This week, I have some really interesting subjects for you. There is a hoax email making the rounds...again...and I want to be sure you don't get caught up in it. You see, so much attention is given to the bogus stuff, we all get confused about what we should really be protecting ourselves from. Here's word on this popular email hoax for your information. Please spread the word!

"The Olympic Torch hoax is plaguing users this month, riding on the back of worldwide fascination with the Winter Olympics. Many people have panicked when faced with this hoax because it warns users to be wary of emails with the subject line 'Invitation' - claiming that it is 'the most destructive virus ever'. Not only do these emails gobble up bandwidth, they also waste time and genuinely cause some victims to worry unduly."

So the joke is on you, right? Have you passed on this warning? If you have, don't worry. Better safe than sorry, right? Well, maybe. But often times, passing around an email that warns people of a virus that doesn't exist can cause more trouble than you think you might be preventing. Wouldn't it just be better to have a group of security EXPERTS working for you? Doesn't it make more sense for you to get protected and be worry-free? I can show you how to get that protection AT NO CHARGE, too...Or turn it into another income stream for you...

The Zippo Trojan has been a terrible problem lately. People who are NOT protected properly have been vulnerable to a hacker attack that encrypts all their files and then demands a ransom! How would you like to get on your computer in the morning, only to find this message waiting for you on your screen:

The ransom demand left by the Zippo Trojan horse

The Troj/Zippo- A Trojan horse (also known as CryZip) searches for files on innocent users's computers such as Word documents, databases and spreadsheets, and moves them into password-encrypted ZIP files. It then creates another file informing the affected user on how they need to pay $300 to an E-Gold account to recover their data.

"The Zippo Trojan horse is bold as brass, scooping up your valuable data and locking it away until you agree to pay the ransom to the criminals who have "kidnapped" your files. Companies who have made regular backups may be able to recover easily, but less diligent businesses may be in a quandary about whether to cough up the cash," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos. "In the old days malware was typically written by teenagers who wanted to show off to their mates. Now most of the viruses and Trojan horses we see are being written with the intention of making money from innocent internet users. The attacks are becoming more organized and more malicious, and every computer needs to be properly defended."

Sophos experts who have analysed the Trojan horse have determined the password used to encrypt users' data.

"Experts at Sophos have disassembled the Zippo Trojan and determined that the password it uses to encrypt data is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98," continued Cluley. "So there should be no need for anyone unfortunate enough to have suffered from this ransomware attack to have to pay the reward to the criminals behind it. It looks like this password was deliberately chosen by the Trojan's author in an attempt to fool analysts into thinking it was a directory path instead."

Sophos is a top- rated Anti-Virus company that only sells its software to the largest corporations in the world. Home users cannot get this level of protection...except through INVISUS Direct.

"Don't Worry Jim, I have software already..."

Well, I hope you have SOMETHING already...because then at least you won't be surfing the net completely naked. But does your software do the job? Is it ENOUGH? How will you know? Why don't you call me and we can discuss it (801-427-5074)? We'll just run a simple online test to see how your current software is working. This test will simply look to see if it can find anything already on your PC that your current software can't find. I won't try to sell you anything. My goal is to get you protected. I will help you identify if your current software is doing that.

But let's pretend for a moment that I could show you that your current choice of protection isn't enough. If I could PROVE IT TO YOU...would you do something about it? Would you be open to making a change to ensure better protection?

Because, you see, I am 99% sure that you aren't protected as well as you should be.
